Xemex P1MB Modbus Module
Monitoring and managing energy flows in a building is increasingly critical, often achieved using the standard Modbus protocol and independent devices. For commercial and residential complexes where multiple systems converge, a single portal for all energy data is essential. The P1MB from Xemex provides the ideal solution by converting smart meter P1 data into Modbus registers accessible via RS485.
This compact module is compatible with DIN rails (dimensions 90 x 18 x 65mm) and connects to the P1 port of smart meters meeting DSRM4 or SMR5 specifications (applicable in the Netherlands and Belgium). A cable with RJ11 connectors at both ends links the module to the meter. The Modbus connection uses three wires (A(+), B(-), and S) to operate as a ‘slave’ to a Modbus ‘master’. Power is supplied through the P1 port of the smart meter, with an option for an external power supply if needed.
